It looks to be yet ANOTHER great, warm, dry, late-summer day at the Aurora Farmers Market tomorrow. Our market will be HOPPING, with lots of vendors and activities!
The Aurora Farmers Market is open from 9am – 1pm every Saturday through October, located at the Wells College softball field parking lot, on the corner of Route 90 and Poplar Ridge Road. Come by, come buy!
Below is the list of vendors and other special guests who will be at the Farmers Market this week. Will we see YOU there?
Aurora Ridge Gardens will be on hand to offer assorted seasonal vegetables and fruits.
BooRadleys Garden offers fresh veggies and fruits. BooRadleys Garden is a participant in the Farmers Market Nutrition Program, accepting WIC and Senior FMNP checks. If you don’t know what this is, get information on the eligibility requirements for these nutritional support programs at the Farmers Market management booth.
Byler’s Baked Goods makes delicious breads, pies, turnovers, cookies, sweet rolls, jams and jellies. Emma also sells homemade quilts.
Dragonfly Hill Farm offers vegetables, fruits, farm fresh brown eggs, and handmade alpaca wool crafts. Mark reports he will have fresh early Sansa apples, peaches, Asian pears, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, potatoes, zucchini, squash, spaghetti squash, red cabbage. Dragonfly is also a participant in the Farmers Market Nutrition Program, accepting WIC and Senior FMNP checks.
Gimme Waffles by Seed Born Foods LLC will serve up delicious gluten-free waffles with homemade toppings, both sweet and savory, homemade dairy-free ice cream, and fudge.
Green Door Woodshop makes a wide variety of handcrafted wood items, like benches, bird houses, and wooden crates.
Knob Hill Hog Farm offers USDA-certified lean pork products, including bacon, chops and roasts, all produced without antibiotics or hormones.
Kozlowski Honey will offer honey and cut comb.
San Pedro Sister Community Project volunteers will sell brightly colored bags and hammocks handmade by the artisans from the San Pedro community in El Salvador. Some of the volunteers just returned from a trip visiting the San Pedro community and brought back a new assortment of hammocks ($65) and bags. As a fundraiser for the San Pedro community, the local volunteers also sell Equal ExchangeÔ Fair Trade-certified coffees (whole bean and ground), tea, cocoa, chocolate bars, and almonds.
New vendors this week:
- Colgan Farms will sell locally grown, gourmet hardneck garlic varieties.
- Sonny’s Best Farms will have three varieties of summer squash, tomatoes, peppers, cucumber and eggplant.
Special guests joining us this week:
- Community nutrition educator Becky Crawford from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County will be set up to demonstrate how to prepare seasonal produce and offer free samples.
- Musical artist Ronda Helene will be here from 10:00AM-12:30PM offering a mix of musical genres, especially vintage country favorites. If you like what you hear, throw a little something in Ronda Helene’s tip jar to help defray her travel expenses.
- Girl Scouts of NYPenn will promote their programs to prospective scouts and leaders.
